Gallery and Studio View
I had planned on pursuing my interiors and still lives while looking at the horizon, but the view got the better of me. After 3 months I started a 6 by 7 foot canvas of the view through 3 windows.
I quickly found that I couldn't hold the tension between the very close walls and the very distant view, so took a knife to the canvas and cut out the window parts. Little did I know that this was the first step into a series, later called Fragile Horizons, based on the view from the World Trade Center, which was to form the center of my work through 2003.
The first 8 panels were finished just before my son Lucas birth in august, and shown at the Cielo Vivo gallery in October.
